Astana, - Fire broke out at the construction site where the tallest tower in Central Asia is being built in Kazakhstan. It took hours to extinguish the flames.

Kazakh Interior Ministry said as quoted by Reuters news agency on Saturday (13/02/2016), the fire in the tower Abu Dhabi Plaza in Astana capital that began on Saturday morning local time. The flames could be extinguished after six hours. The tower is currently being built by the United Arab Emirates developer, Aldar Properties and contractor Arabtec.

Photographs on the ministry website showed flames on a number of floors of the building frame under construction. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire was blazing in the 11th floor to the 25th floor.

The Ministry reported no injuries in the incident. Mentioned ministry, as many as 150 construction workers have left the construction site. Not yet known the extent of the damage caused by these fires.

Construction of Abu Dhabi Plaza is scheduled for completion by the end of this year. At these locations will be built a hotel, apartments, offices and shops.

Not yet known the exact cause of this fire. But the Interior Ministry said the fire was allegedly sourced from a heater.
