Unexplained Danaxia Landform landscape is found in the southeast and southwest China , is composed of cliffs colorful arches . Precisely located in the city of Zhangye , in Gansu Province , China .

According to the Telegraph , the colors are derived from the stunning hills of red sand stone and minerals that formed since the Cretaceous , 24 million years ago to be exact .
The rock formations are then shifting tectonic plates that also form the Himalayas. Rain and wind in the area for millions of years also contribute in forming a niche, valleys, and the pattern of Zhangye Danxia color. It is said that this mountain will show patterns of different colors, depending on weather conditions.
This area is quickly becoming a popular tourist attraction for the city of Zhangye.
